Santo Domingo.- The Public Works Ministry has opened to traffic the two overpasses at the 27 de Febrero avenue’s intersections with Fernando Defilló and Carmen Mendoza streets, in the sectors Quisqueya and Bella Vista.

Crews of the contractor Odebrecht-Estrella place the finishing touches on adjacent streets to allow traffic at their full capacity, whose ribbon cutting is slated for August 2.

The overpasses have been open to traffic in the west-east direction since Sunday, while heavy equipment pave the surface level lanes.

The 520 meter long East-West trench tunnel of four lanes will pass under the two intersections, and designed together with the overpass at the nearby Núñez de Cáceres avenue.

Good stuff. Driving through the city gets easier every day. Our tax dollars at work(some of them, anyway)

If it weren't for the corruption, the PLD would be a kick butt political party.
