Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic.- President Leonel Fernandez headed the ribbon cutting Tuesday for the aqueduct built at a cost of RD$858.1 million.
The work built by the National Sewage Systems and Potables Water Institute (INAPA) will provide piped water to 48,830 people in the urban and tourist zone and other localities of northeastern Samaná province.
The new aqueduct will also benefit the communities Carolina, Abra Grande, Atravesado, El Buen Pan, Cosón, La Bonita, La Ceiba and Barbacoa.
In the inaugural speech, INAPA director Mariano German affirmed that the aqueduct was one of the works most yearned for by the people of Samaná province.

And charge the Government or Private entity must, for there is no such thing as a Free Lunch. Dominicans must realize that modernization and all these infrastructural advancement come at a cost. Maintenance and depreciation of these projects must go hand in hand or the same problems that plague other services will follow.
LF has done a good job in this type of infrastructure improvement ,,,I remember that San Pedro de macoris and Ek Seibo also had upgraded water systems . Nothing much had been done for decades before . It is just a pity that in these changing economic times LF and his adminstration have not been responsible in reigning in their extravagant current expenditure .

thats alot of pesos for a pipe to drink some dirty water , could t they use this money to build some schools in some pueblos ?
