Santo Domingo.- The Public Works Ministry Wednesday announced advances in the maintenance and repairs of more than 3,280 kilometers of 104 country roads nationwide, including the filling of potholes, weeding, median lines painted, cleanup, fixed culverts, cleared trenches and bridge abutments.

The works also include the construction of around 10 kilometers of retaining walls and drainages beneath the road base to prevent future landslides,

The cost of the project will be paid with equally matching funds from the Dominican Government and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), within the agreement for loan No.1939/OC-Dr.

Just returned from the Capital to La Romana. What is supposed to be a major road...is a major joke. And once more...becoming dangerous. I know they are working on the Coral, but how about keeping up what you have already finished? By the time they finish the east section, the west section willl be a rutted, potholed, mess.

The road from Luperon to Martin Alonzo had seen one grader in ten years and the tree that fell and blocked the road , After two weeks was removed by some local people not the sindico. Although the front end loader that Luperon needs to levels the garbage dump went around the tree.
