More contraband to come.

All the chatarras run on Freon 12. I don't think their owners will turn off the air just because Leo said so.

Nor do I think the "talleres" are going to buy the very expensive compressors used to recuperate the gas from the vehicles' AC.

Another useless decree and more negocios for the tigueres.

Good idea- good thermal design of buildings is the main thing.
"
Install reflective foil underneath the roof and you'll be surprised at how cool your home will stay. The foil blocks the direct path from the roof to the ceiling. Attic ventilation is also a necessary part of keeping the house cool and cutting down cooling expenses. The ventilation will cool the roof and carry away some of the heat that gets trapped.

Installing the reflective foil can immediately lower upper room temperatures by 10 degrees or more. That's without any adjustment to the thermostat settings. You'll find the reflective foil at any home improvement store but it's cheapest before the summer months.
"

Why should DR import all that expensive energy for a?. In a place like North Coast DR a roll or two of aluminium foil and reflective white paint will lower temperatures considerably.

After owning a air conditioning business R-12 was banned in the US in 1994 and phased out in the rest of the world what is taking it so long. R-12 is used for autos. refrigerators and some commercial refrigeration

what the heck are you talking about abc200? They are talking about autos. Most people with a tin roof can not afford to run AC. Are you drinking rum early today?

Even we all know some of the Freon will damage the Ozone Layer, but in reality, how many people (NOT COUNTRIES) will listen in a serious manners?

Furthermore, even the government's regulations say so, but how many business person will follow-up and carry-out ?

At least, DR is doing something which is better than not doing......but the results? I just doubt it.

xw is waiting for regulations that all autos have reflectivehwhite roofs and IR reflective glass.
It would be better that open sided vehicles were not taxed so highly.
But the fluids mentioned can be used for home ac as well as offices etc. and these areas are where cuts are essential too.

Yes xw would like to be in an ice block preserved for posterity - cold as possible - or perhaps ---

cryonics - only 200 have have been preserved this way yet - but in in 1000 years time doubtless xw would like to be re-awoken complete with his SUV or Corvette.

Post ozone hysteria, that is before GW hysteria but after GC hysteria, the GOES satellites showed conclusively that the ozone layer's polar "hole" pulsates naturally with solar activity.

DR had been, for sound economic reasons, one of the last holdouts. Now someone has found a way to make money (and power) on an old hysteria. What a shame.

BTW, CERN super collider has now confirmed the solar genesis of the ozone cycle.

The hole in the ozone layer is not hysteria ..it is a proved fact and please for those who think it is not go to Australia , for example and see the rise in skin cancers as a result of the problem
