Santo Domingo.- The Agriculture Ministry on Tuesday said the bill aimed at creating a new system of markets will transform the marketing of agricultural products in the country.
He said the Government has allocated more than RD$5.0 billion in the system, and plans to spend another 11.17 billion, for a total of RD$16.7 billion during the next four years.
Markets, Refrigeration and Greenhouses (Promefrín) director Eusebio Guzman said the bill would create the Dominican Agro Markets (Mercadom) and the National Food Grid (Rena), to design the legal and administrative policies for the medium and long term for agricultural marketing.
He said Mercadom’s creation will improve the handling of products.
