Santo Domingo.- The Government yesterday suggested that the Senate legally halt the use of taxpayers money in supplemental pension plans, calling the siphoning a double taxation by the State.
It also requested a halt to plans not operating within Pensions law 87-01.
In that regard president Danilo Medina named a committee to review government pensions, chaired by Presidency chief of staff Gustavo Montalvo, to suggest amendments to the bill now in a Senate committee.
The initiative is from Santiago senator Julio Cesar Valentin, who just yesterday suggested that anyone collecting a Government pension despite still working as an official, such as is the case with some members of constitutional entities, "apologize to the country and return the funds that belong to the people.”
Duplicity
Current supplementary pension plans, which have been created in various agencies, are based on contributions from both employees and those entities involved with public funds.

Hey Josean the fact and the matter is that she worked for Leonel and now for Danilo so if she had any moral support for her husband she should it had resign sometime ago when he entered the race to become a president. Well she is not out of the hook either. I remembered like today when she was appointed to her job which created a lot of stir because of her closed family and relationship with Leonel Fernandez. Sorry dude but your guy wife is also taking a piece of the pie and is he by staying married to her because they sleep and eat at the same house and from the same income.

She clarified that currently she DOES NOT receive any salary from the Dominican State. Dr. Fernández is part of the Bioethics Commission, but exercises their work in an honorary capacity, WITHOUT CHARGING ANY SALARY OR ANY OTHER ECONOMIC BENEFIT.
She argued that MONEY DOES NOT BUY HER CONSCIENCE or WILL MAKE HER THROW HER PRINCIPLES OVERBOARD.

As surely know, last week, the national press made a report on the former judges of the JCE that they are receiving monthly pensions and at the same time they are receiving wages corresponding to their positions, as the judges of the higher courts.
With regard to the topic, my name has come to light on social networks, resulting in the misinformation of many people.
(bernies from the Swamps of Florida and the PLD in particular)
That is why I make them the following clarifications:
There is a regulation that governs pension and Retirement Plan dates back to the year 2000 in the JCE. The judges, according to that regulation, are entitled to a pension when finish their terms in the institution.

I worked for two terms as judge of the JCE and in virtue of the fact that, the current management of that institution, in strict adherence to the rules of the pensions and Retirement Plan decided, by resolution of the entire body, give me the corresponding pension, equivalent to 70% of the last salary received.
Since the regulation became effective in the year 2001, all outgoing judges since then, are given their pensions. In the same way there is a regulation in the Supreme Court of Justice and all the judges that came out recently were pensioners under the given regulation.

I should clarify:
(Says josean especially to bernies who believes every lie the PLD puts out)
The pension I receive was not given to me as gift by anyone at my request, or deals that I made. Nor did I participate in the elaboration and adoption of the regulation that created the Plan of Pensions and Retirement, nor was I a judge of the JCE, at the time the pension was approved. In addition,
I also want to clarify that since the time that I left the JCE I do not receive any salary from the State for the performance of ANY function. Additionally, even though for the allocation of the pension of which I am currently entitled, the law requires no more than one period of assignment as judge, I would like to tell you that I have worked for more than 20 years in various institutions of the State.
It goes without saying that I support any reform that is focused on equity and transparency into the scheme of pensions and retirement in the Dominican State.

All they have to serve is 4 yrs in the Congress to be elegible for a Pension.A copy from the USA.,
Here in the USA we can afford it,Providing that person goes to work for a private institution he/she
is entitle to the gvt pension plus what other pension is there for them. What they can't do is what
is persistant in DR ,double dipping from the same sourceThey get themselves appointed to diferent cabbinet positions for 4 years each therefore collecting from each a pension.
You could have here a Municipal pension ,State pension, plus a Federal pension plus a private employer's pension.
Basta you must have meant after 25 years of service over 50 years of age.You must keep in mind
they are not talking about S/S pension like here, here all you have to put in is 10 years of work and
collect at age 65.
Those privilege bastards are in a different cathegory and don't want to participate in S/S pension
since they have every thing S/S offers them and then some at no contributory.
