Santo Domingo.- President Danilo Medina will announce Thursday the breadth of the tax reform the Executive Branch will submit to Congress  in the coming days.

Medina will first present the proposed tax pact 11am Thursday, to the representatives of the Social Economic Council’s 50 entities, according to Economy minister Temistocles Montas, who said he expects the meeting will produce the consensus needed for the new tax reform.

In that regard Medina promised several labor union leaders who visited him in his National Palace office yesterday, that food staples will not be taxed.

Yesterday the president also met with representatives of banks to explain the tax reform’s details.

Some sectors including the opposition PRD party have said that the Government can get next year's Budget approved without creating or raising taxes.

Lie-onomicis and Atabey are exposed for the corrupt PURPLE frauds they are!

NO NEW TAXES are Needed!

“Social organizations say it is possible to form a 2013 budget without increasing taxes”

“The statement draws attention to the origin of the fiscal problems now facing the country, particularly questioned is how we came to the current deterioration in public finances, with an accumulated deficit by the Central Government, between January 2008 and August 31, 2012, of RD$ 332,875 million, at current prices. They say that this deficit IS NOT the result of a sharp REDUCTION IN TAX REVENUE but the result of an EXCESSIVE SPENDIND for purposes of ELECTORAL and POLITICAL PATRONAGE.”

“The social organizations that are part of the Economic and Social Council indicated that a budget can be formulated for 2013 without increasing taxes, ensuring macroeconomic stability and fulfilling social commitments as 4% for education if rationalizations of spending measures are taken.”

I was Googling josean and hipolito on this site and realized that he doesn't actually support anyone, he just likes to create conflicts, for example:

Josean:
"Here is one Just as Unscientific as the PLD’s Dime a Dozen Pre-fabricated Polls:

Si ya decidió su voto ¿por quién votará?

Danilo Medina 13% (762 votes)

Hipólito Mejía 68% (3831 votes) "

Btw, Danilo has more than a plate full right now. He has a whole buffet to deal with. Hopefully he's focusing on the economic and corruption issues more. The construction, metro, education, drug and electricity issues can wait.
