Santo Domingo.- Finance minister Simon Lizardo on said Tuesday the government, prior to auctioning its vehicles considered gas guzzlers, will first establish their exact number and which agency has them, in addition to the creation of a commission to oversee the process.
He said the Treasury has ??an inventory of the high consumption vehicles headed for auction, after auto experts consider that they fall under those characteristics.
"The next step will be to create a commission to evaluate the different cases and establish a phase-out schedule, that is, the fact that we’ve begun the process doesn’t mean that well identify and sell the vehicles in one stroke, is will ‘be gradually," said Lizardo interviewed in the National Palace.
The official said yet to be determined is which vehicles will be auctioned, and which will be replaced with smaller ones.
