Santo Domingo.- After meeting with representatives of various national sectors president Danilo Medina will head today's meeting of the Economic and Social Council, to unveil his proposal for a tax reform, as Economy Minister Temistocles Montas announced yesterday.

The official said the meeting, slated for 11am, will be held in the National Palace instead of the Catholic University (PUCAMAINA), as originally scheduled. "We will make the presentation of the proposal and hope it produces concrete results at this time."

He said Medina’s meetings with union leaders and bank sector representatives on Tuesday sought to apprise the various strata of society on the proposal to be submitted.

The Economic and Social Council chaired by Monsignor Agripino Nunez is a consultative entity that includes representatives from all of Dominican society’s organized sectors.
