Santo Domingo.- The Industry and Commerce Ministry yesterday announced the approvals to install six new companies which will invest more than RD$238 million and create 750 direct jobs.

Minister Jose del Castillo said in the National Free Zones Council’s last session a permit was also issued to build a free zone park zone, with an investment of RD$90 million, which he affirms will create around 1,300 direct jobs.

The official said the sector has the government’s full support.

We need hundreds of thousands of jobs.

No one is working.

Hopefully this is the first tiny drop needed to fill a giant empty bucket.

I am curious as to why we are building a new free zone when so many sit as empty as the heads of our elected officials.
