Santo Domingo.- The Internal Taxes Agency (DGII) on Monday announced the extension of the agro sector’s exemptions on advance payments of the Tax on Income, the Tax on Assets and the Income of Tax retention on payments to the State, throughout the entire fiscal year 2012.

The farming sector exemption in DGII General Norm 01-2012, which takes effect starting today Tuesday, began in 2008 to support livestock producers and farmers which had sustained major losses from Tropical storms Olga and Noel.

The Norm states the Government’s interest by contributing to improve the agro sector’s conditions.

The Tributary Code authorizes the DGII to issue total or partial exemption of the advance payment of the Tax On Income and the Tax on Assets, as requested by causes of ‘force majeure’ to justify the impossibility of making those payments.

What has the photo of an illegal shanty built on a flood-bank or a river got to do with farming? These folk are tax recipients who earn or produce nothing (except illegitimate babies) and hence never pay tax.

lovingit,
Or rent or hospital care or school fees.

Apart from that they're doing it tough, and need a yola to Puerto Rico.
