Santo Domingo.- The CEO of the State-owned utility (CDEEE) today announced negotiations on two contracts to install two renewable energy plants, with a 33 megawatt output each, and a 50 MW solar energy park.
Celso Marranzini also announced advances to install renewable energy plants, and the expansion of Los Cocos park to increase output from 33 to 75 MW.
“I think Dominican Republic is going to be Latin America’s highest renewable energy producing country in just a short time, which will undoubtedly help the generation matrix, making us a country which can conquer green poles, which benefits the nation,” the official said.

What happens on a cloudy day with no wind, or at night when there is no wind?
We can harness the hot air from Roy Stone, who posts in rain, sleet, snow and hail :)
No, seriously, I think no energy will be produced, Roy. There does need to be advancements in the storage of the energy to help with peak load and times when there is no production, but it is a much needed start.
