SANTO DOMINGO. - President Leonel Fernandez went to Pedernales province today Thursday to cut ribbons on several works built at a cost of nearly RD$700.0 million, including the Crude Manguito-Aguas Negras highway, at RD$505.0 million.
Public Works minister Victor Diaz said the highway was built with a guarantee of its durability of several years.
The chief executive also inaugurated a multipurpose building and the repairs of several houses in poor communities near Pedernales, at a cost of RD$191.4 million.
Fernandez said the inaugurations are part of those promised several weeks ago, and which will continue until he leaves office on August 16.
The Sports Ministry rented an airplane to fly the journalists from the capital to cover the activity in the southern province.
