MOCA, Dominican Republic.- President Leonel Fernandez affirmed Friday that because of the way the country has managed to sidestep the global economic crisis, it has been designated as a model for development.
After a town hall meeting with representatives of various productive sectors in north central Espaillat province, the chief executive announced that the ban on egg and chickens export to Haiti will be solved by the Haiti-Dominican Republic bilateral commission.
He said imports of chickens and eggs from Brazil and Florida is what has most jeopardized producers of those products in Moca, a problem he pledged to solve quickly.
In a statement from the Presidency, Fernandez also announced the construction and repairs of 20 bridges, highways, local roads, streets, sidewalks and gutters of the districts in the area, starting Monday.

So, we are switching from a city in 70's style to a modern latin metropolitan area.. With no empty promises, but things you can see , touch and use every day

We have more debts, yes, but we are more able to pay for it than before, due to the grow of GDP, exportations, new investment, etc

BASTA and Josean, there is no denial that there is corruption in the government but l allow me to refresh your memorry of all past PRD presidents. First one was Juan Bosch who was outstead because he wouldn't allow his political officers to steal and fired the first one who did, Well he then created the PLD party, The second prd president was Antonio Guzman and is in the general public that su Hija y Yerno Lo mataron, then Jorge Blanco and during his time all the major banks collaps and he died under house arrest and Then Hipo and we all know happen during his for years, Allow me, The country lost 25% of it GDP. and the Dollar went up more than 300% if you take into consideration that when he came to office the Dollar was 16 to 1 and it went up to 55 to. Beer were 22 pesos for a large one and it went to 60 pesos, eggs were 2 pesos went up to 5 and 6 pesos. rental of an apartment were in pesos and because of him were being charge in USD and that about it for now.
