More hotels, more tourists and business people, equals more jobs and money.
Now, let's get rid of the trash in the streets and in the form of government "botellas", and you'd have an attractive environment for more investments!

The Investors are Foreigners, most likely the Construction workers will be Haitians, the high paying jobs will also go to Foreigners per the local historical experiance and the guests will the international jet set crowd; yeah a really benefit to the average everyday Dominican!

With such potential in this country and opportunities for good investment there seems to be only one thing holding it back.... True Governance of this land... Not just now or the past but into the future as well...
With good things happening here and individuals working hard, trying to make a better life for themselves and their communities.
The fight for small wins against corruption is the hardest battle in the DR for those wanting a better future for all.

"The fight for small wins against corruption is the hardest battle in the DR for those wanting a better future for all."

Absolutely right, Stillhere. But I think the battle will eventually be won by common sense and decent people who see progress impacted and damned by corruption!
They'll come to see that there's much more money to be made in honesty rather than the usual fraudulence and treachery!

No one can stop the tide of progress. The momentum that keeps the ball rolling is too great to even slow it down!...I think we'll see a lot more development and investments, if Medina And Margarita win the next election. I feel that they may actually make a greater effort to fight corruption!
But heaven help us if the fat hippo gets the reins..It'll be downhill from there on!!

The hippo is the only person on earth that can stop our economic wheels from turning!
The dumb ass,has the uncanny ability to ruin things by just being there!....Amazing!

BTW, the guy's a distant relative of mine! Kid you, not!...That side of the family is a carrier of a "dumb gene". I have inherited part and have always been half-dumb; some say, totally!....Alas!

No another view:

"JP Morgan Chase sees no economic risk after elections may"

"SANTO DOMINGO (Dominican Republic).-financial conglomerate JP Morgan Chase said that after the May 20 elections the risk is low for the Dominican economy, no matter who wins the elections."

"The document, circulating since this morning, takes a "bucket of cold water" to the Government attempt to sell the idea that Hipólito Mejía would be the "back to the uncertain"."

“The document represents the understanding by the business community that manages the sovereign bonds of the country of the great possibilities of triumph by Hipólito Mejía.”

stillhere,

The reason Hippo is doing so well is because of three very simple facts that have absolutely nothing to do with him:

1. Supper Corruption crystalized visually for the public in the Figure of Felix Bautista,

2. The feeling of social insecurity because of the high crime rate and high unemployment,

3. The over playing of their political hand by the PLD by controlling all three branches of government and the public's fear of a “constitutional’ dictatorship.
