SAN FRANCISCO D.M., Dominican Republic.- President Leonel Fernandez on Tuesday cut the ribbon on the pavilion and multipurpose facility La Aguila, in the seat of Duarte province, built at a cost of more than RD$54.0 million, continuing the spate of inaugurals began several months before the May 20 presidential election.

The project located in San Francisco’s suburbs features a modern basketball and volleyball courts, security system and protective mats.

Fernandez has visited Duarte province six times since January 26 to cut the ribbons on more than 60 development works. He said since his second term in office in 2004 to the end of his third next August 16, more than 200 works have been inaugurated in Duarte province.

Yeah!!!

That's exactly what we need, a new gym.
Written by: ohhhvictor, 29 May 2012 7:12 PM
From: United States

No.. it's not a new gym.. It's a PROFESSIONAL pavilion and multipurpose facility to promote sports so our youth would be away from drugs..
What we need is a president that continue doing what he is doing so far specially in infrastructure: a lot of schools, highways, metros, overpass ,hospitals, expressways , tunnels, etc, etc ,etc..

No other government focus so bad in infrastructure and constructions projects..

That's why we 're proud of Leonel!

Increases in the prices of basic consumer foods and products

SANTO DOMINGO. Consumer products such as sugar, "American" beans, eggs, chicken, garlic and onion, have increased in price in recent days.

Traders say most of the increases have occurred after the May 20 elections, but do not explain the causes.

You guys are only cattle to the PLD, livestock!!!! The PLD don't care about anyone of youzz, they do appreciate all the support they get for robbing the country in broad daylight..... Leo himself appreciates the fact that he can get petrol on the arm and make money on it and not repay it while charging $8.00USD a gallon for gas even though the gas is being refined in D.R.

None of youzz see the real plan here, just like cattle being rustled to the slaughter house with no idea of what awaits them.

What would the dominican republic do when haiti bum rushes the border and start taking land and chavez line up his naval ships in dominican waters demanding payment for the oil received under leo's presidency....... Roll over and expose the belly?....... This is where leo expects you guyzz to tap him on the shoulder, bunch of fools.

The Same PURPLE PUNKS who go Orgasmic at the mentioning of Narco-Lie-onel are as quiet as a church mouse regarding this:

Dominican Today

"Bizarre Government wages: Banks chief makes more than Barack Obama"

Santo Domingo. – There are Government officials who make 8 times as much as a colleague of the same category, a severe distortion of salary scales long recognized in the public sector.

The bizarre disparity is such that the salaries of several ministers, and other heads of departments are several times higher than that of the President himself.

One example is the Tourism minister who makes RD$75,000 monthly; his colleague in Foreign Relations earns RD$300,000, compared with the President’s 90,000.

A study by the civic movement Citizen Participation (PC) quoted by eldia.com.do reveals that 10 different wage scales among the top officials in 18 ministries, from a low of the Land Transit Agency director’s RD$60,000, to the Internal Taxes chief’s more than half s million.

The list

The president of the Dominican Telecomm Institute (Indotel) earns a whopping RD$515,506 per month, but much lower than the Banks superintendent’s RD$1.5 million, which is more than the president of the world’s richest country, Barack Obama, whose paycheck equals RD$1.3 million per month.

Banks superintendent Haivanjoe NG Cortiñas’ salary is 11,800% higher than the minimum wage.

RobertoJose & Josean are both idiots and losers ! Can't appreciate any upbringing project done by the PLD, every government no matter what country has thiefs, we just dont know about it or assume about it as much as they do in the Dominican Republic.

THese projects are great for teens to stay occupied and do something recreational other then be in the streets selling drugs and doing not such good things.

@Roberto Jose, if you read articles you would know that the worth of a gallon of gas is nOT no $8 in DR... it is close to the average of the USA.

You guys complain so much about things the government of DR does, but forget to realize that this goes on in every country.

Be realistic and praise when good projects are created/ finished/ worked on in the country.

When the PRD was in power there was none of that, the idiot of Hipolito even took bkfst out of schools bc he rather build his 10 homes around the country.

READ< LEARN< BE REALISTIC<FAIR< and more consistent.
