Santo Domingo.- The State-owned hydroelectric power utility (Egehid) generated 220 gigawatts per month (220 million kilowatt) in May, from the April to May downpours which filled the dams.

"This generation in May is also the result of better coordination of the agencies, through the Weekly Water Watch headed by Indrhi (dams and canals agency), accurate decisions in the operation, a good maintenance program and rehabilitation center and effective administrative coordination and management," said Egehid manager Victor Ventura.

The official also announced that Jigüey dam’s No. 2 unit came back in line and being subjected to a test period, adding that the complex’s units will generate 49 megawatts, for which he affirms the system will resume full capacity.

Consumers are charged by KW/HR. So you would have to multiply 24X30=720 and divide into it
So it comes to 305,556KW/HR. An average house uses 500KW/HR. So it could supply 611.112
modern homes or a factory,or the METRO or 61,000 rural homes
In other words 220X10 to the 9th power divided by 720 hr/days =305.556 KWHR
