SANTO DOMINGO. - German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Monday stated to president elect Danilo Medina her country’s interest not only in continued cooperation, but increasing it in the future.
In a statement Medina’s press office said Merkel also wished him good luck and success "in the performance of the duties of great responsibility that you have before you."
"I will be glad to continue and expand our cooperation between our two countries," Merkel says in her letter to Medina, who takes office August 16.
The German Chancellor joins other world and Latin American leaders who’ve stated a desire for their respective countries to strengthen bilateral relations with the Dominican Republic, including Mexico president Felipe Calderon, Nicaragua’s Daniel Ortega, and Barack Obama of the U.S.

Germany needs to keep their export options open.
nothing more needs to be said.
is this Guy a new atabey in the making?????
Btw I am sure Agela Merkel, due to the diplomatic Bs, was embarrassed and appalled at having to breathe the same air as the person next to her. She knows all too well what this person is responsible for about corruption, personal enrichment and without any remorse or scruple to betray his people in any way that can enrich him further. Be 150% she knows and smell the garbage.
