SANTO DOMINGO. - President Leonel Fernandez will travel to Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday, where he’ll address the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD), known as Rio + 20.
Fernandez, who’ll leave the country at 10am on a private flight from Las Americas International Airport, will speak Thursday in the event which gathers various heads of state, representatives of governments and global institutions linked to environmental preservation and human development programs.The president will speak Thursday afternoon, where he’ll refer to his country’s efforts to improve living standards of the population and protect natural resources.
Dominican Republic has been extensively involved in the preparation leading to the UNCSD event, according to a Dominican Environment Ministry report.
