Santo Domingo.- The Bicameral commission studying the supplementary budget bill agreed to disregard the Executive Branch’s request of US$1.6 billion in loans for various works.

Committee chairman Dionis Sanchez said the loans must be entered into the 2013 budget, because they aren’t included this year.

Of the loans US$250 million would’ve been allocated to build the dam at Monte Grande and the reconstruction of the one at Sabana Yegua, both in the southwest, while another US$200 million for a road to link the south and north regions.

The committee continues its meeting Thursday and is expected to submit the bill to the full floor of both houses next week.

The Lie-onelista Show no respect for Danilo; the Rift begins to Snowball!

"PLD Senators classify as untimely promotion of Leonel"

"Senators of the ruling party of Dominican Liberation (PLD) this Wednesday scored as untimely to promoted President Leonel Fernandez for a new presidential term."

"El Nacional published on Wednesday photos of President Leonel Fernandez, that have appeared on the main avenues of the capital, in vehicles, posters and billboards, in which say: The leader returns 2016-2020, the 6th defeat is a go!"

somebody is being to see some light. if this is a precursor to the direction Danilo intends to travel, i am on board with him. Leonel Fernandez is a bad joke,a guy who has less than a clue, who believes countries develop by building concrete and asphalt structures. time to start some current expenditure, like paying a living wage to real useful people, disbanding the botella militia, and getting the country into the 21st century. good show, guys.Leonel is an anachronism, who should be put where he belongs....into oblivion.

That is a harsh assessment and I think we DO need dams but if Danilo has other priorities I am happy to wait and see, but the LF years gave us what no other government has given, much better roads and bridges and infrastructure that was desperately needed ..But as I have said before we are now entering a new phase .

LF years gave us what no other government has given, much better roads and bridges == Bull shit. I took him 12 years to do anything except to double the gov. payroll. I hope he gets AIDS

infrastructure is a little more than roads, and overpasses. the FIRST order of business should have been either electrification, or an upgrade of the educational apparatus.

This is a great example of how short sighted Dominicans are.

Metro wastes money and dams generate money.

Will always be a 4th world country.
