Santo Domingo.- Industry and Commerce minister Manuel Garcia said Tuesday fuel prices will fall as much as six pesos per gallon in the coming weeks. "I don’t have the exact calculation, but I think it may go down by four, five and six pesos in the next few weeks."
He said reports that once the elections were over the fuel prices would rise. "We’re expecting that declining oil prices internationally are transferred to cheaper fuels and begin to transfer them to consumers."
"We hope that in the coming weeks will see reductions, because as I said before, one thing is the price of oil and other is the prices of derivatives," said Garcia to reporters at the George Arzeno Brugal Industrial Journalism awards. He said crude prices expected.
He said crude prices are quite close to reality, "based on when the barrel of oil cost US$100."
