Josean, there are many guys here who tell us that LF was a great president, because he built overpasses , and bridges, and roads. well, construction is not the reason why he was elected. he was elected to provide LEADERSHIP. building bridges is the purview of the Minister of Construction, or whatever his title is. when the owner of a sports team elects a head coach, he does not give him the responsibility of making sure the uniforms are clean on game day. that is taken care of by housekeeping. he is chosen to set the tone. he makes the game plans. he strategizes. he assesses the opponent. he looks for his strengths, and weaknesses. it is his responsibility to put the best team on the field on game day. he is the LEADER. the players take their cues from him. the buck stops with him. While I applaud Danilo talking the talk and yet to walk the walk I'm more of a fan allowing each leg of the government to work on it's own. Why even bother with adding restriction on a in a country where no president has had the balls to grab the bull by the horn and start putting politicians in jail.

If most politicians don't even stop at restriction stated in the constitution why would they bother to listen to Danilo's "suggestions".

How about Danilo bring his buddy Euclides into court for electricity theft and proceed from there on into making suggestions to other. At least then he would have more ground to walk on.

A funny thing, during election time everybody was supporting Lie-onel on all his doing, now we can verily see anyone supporting him... Unfortunately the Dominican man has a weak maind that only see the superficial and don't pay attention of what is behind the curtain #2, and for that we are stuck with a perfect copy of " Neva York chiquito", but the 5th worst country in Lat-Am..

Dumb has to be measured in terms of where SD will be in another generation. More than 1 million more people living in SD! Then we'll see if his policy was incorrect. I suspect those living in SD in 2030 will have great cause for hailing his wisdom.

What some people have a difficult time with is acknowledging that DR has MANY deficits, and transportation is one of the most glaring ones holding back the nation. Medina is doing right to emphasize full 8 hour day quality educational opportunities for K-6 grade students. But he has stated that only 80% of eligible students will be covered if his plans are fully met. So 20% of students will be be outside looking in.

So much to do and not enough resources available to fully eliminate the deficits faster. But Medina is on the right track.

Spimx, i see that you get the idea. for the metro to achieve its goals, one of the first things that has to happen is that people who own cars will have to leave them at home, and take the train. it is not simply a matter of providing air conditioned transportation for people who would otherwise ride a 1979 Datsun carrito. if the car owners still drive, then what is the point? given the cultural imperatives of the local rank and file, is Dona Mercedes from Arroyo Hondo going to get on public transportation, to mingle with the riff raff? does she want to sit beside Fausto, and have him belching salami gas in her direction? heck, that is why she laid out all that money to buy the Volvo, a lasting reminder that she is a woman of means, and Belkis is not.
