Santo Domingo.- Industry and Commerce Minister José del Castillo revealed that the Government suspended the three million gallons per month fuel subsidy provided bus and truck drivers, a measure which could signal the start of calls for protests by transport unions.
"When this subsidy was established it was to prevent price hikes for passengers and freight. That agreement expired with the administration of President Leonel Fernandez," the official said.
He said he’ll meet with transport leaders this week to assess possible ways for subsidies to that sector. “We are now evaluating with the unions to see what measures can be taken, but we don’t have a decision in that regard ... We’re at zero, but we will open a dialogue."

To ride that fees be better covers for fuel , same for trucks
I thinks it better and less stress on customers and businesses for costs of fuels.
@ dreamkiller, you forgot flame throwers and chemical weapons.
That should get the job done!
