Santo Domingo.-  The efforts by Danilo Medina’s Administration should focus on creating decent jobs, promoting exports and help local industries compete.

The suggestion is from Commitment Santiago 2016, a statement signed by the eight of the Cibao (north) region’s most representative business organizations, which calls for the creation of a committee charged with advancing those three aspects considered basic to Dominican Republic’s development.

Commitment was signed by Carlos A. Fondeur, of the Santiago Strategic Development Council (CDES), Lina Garcia, of the Northern Region Manufacturers Association (Airen); Hendrik Kelner, of the Association for Development (Apedi); Achilles Bermudez, of the Dominican Free Zones Association (Adozona) Michelangelo Lama, of the Industrial Free Zone Corporation, Maria Victoria Menicucci, of the Chamber of Commerce and Production, José Luis Bonilla; of the Santiago Free Zone Business Association (AEZFS), and Sandy Filpo, of the Santiago Business and Industries Association (ACIS).

Calling it innovative, the heads of the associations and development agencies which signed the Commitment hailed the President’s creation of the 13 commissions charged with submitting the proposals in various fields to contribute to Dominican Republic’s sustainable development.

From: United States, FREEPORT, Long Island.... ((You're blind to the fact that you're blind))
Why is it always, that Cibao looks out for the interest of the ENTIRE ISLAND and SDQ is out for her own?

If it weren't for us, the dominican republic would be haitian in its entirety.

True Roberto, the Cibao is basically the cradle of modern Dominican mindset. There are many interesting developments going on now in that region.
