Santo Domingo.- Dominican National Brewery president Franklin Leon on Tuesday confirmed its support for the Art Critics Association (Acroarte), after hearing the request from the offspring of icon diva Casandra Damirón, to remove their mother's name from the annual awards, considered the Dominican version of the Oscars and Grammys.

"We respect the position of the Damirón’s family although we find it regrettable that may jeopardize a celebration which brought pride to Dominicans and it’s part of the values ??by which we are recognized abroad," Leon said.

In a statement to the media, Leon also cited the Casandra Awards’ growing international presence.

Its the offspring of icon diva Casandra Damirón that want to remove her name from the award, so what the DNB thinks makes no difference.
