Santo Domingo.- Representatives of the Caribbean States ACP Forum (CARIFORUM) gathered in Santo Domingo addressed different aspects of the implementation of the Economic Partnership Agreement, EPA, at a regional meeting organized by the CARIFORUM Directorate, the Caribbean Community Secretariat (CARICOM), hosted by the Industry and Commerce Ministry’s Foreign Trade Dept. (DICOEX).

National Coordinators, EPA Implementation Unit Directors and Regional Authorities of the 15 CARIFORUM countries expedite the work for upcoming meetings to be held with the European Union.

In a statement to the press DICOEX said technical level discussions with the European Union under the EPA’s Trade and Development Committee are slated for late September in Trinidad and Tobago and by the end of October the region’s Trade Ministers should be able to take a definitive position to the Joint CARIFORUM-European Union meeting to be held in Brussels.

Heading the meeting were CARIFORUM EPA Implementation Unit director Brandford Isaacs; CARIFORUM General director Iván Ogando,; Industry and Commerce Ministry DICOEX director Yahaira Sosa, and Robert Glass, of the German Foundation GIZ.
