Santo Domingo.– Dominican grid operator OC has removed hydro project Hatillo 2 and thermo project Punta Caucedo from its latest medium-term outlook, power-eng.com reported.
According to the website, state hydro generator Egehid is behind Hatillo 2 (8.4MW) and Punta Caucedo (100MW) belongs to state power holding CDEEE.
OC pulled the projects after the companies responded to requests to update the plants' status, the report said.
The outlook highlights that through May 2013, EGE Haina is due to bring 52MW wind online with Los Cocos 2 and 100MW thermo from Quisqueya 1. Maxon will contribute 92MW thermo with LS Energía Boca Chica.

Smart move...
Get out before you get screwed.....
What? ...Can anyone please translate for me what all this is about? I haven't the faintest idea what DT is trying to tell us in this report.
Ron... Typical of DT....
You have to read between the lines or copy and past to Googel translate to Spanish to get the real story.
Dreamkiller,
If I were American Airlines, Dominos Pizza or any other advertiser on DT I would be pulling my Ad,
But you, I and the rest of us readers come here for the news and to have a little fun busting some balls
DT should hire a real editor that has good english gramer and writing skils.
Its for their own good..
You are absolutely right ,This article doesn't make any sence at all. I have tried to analyze it in multiple ways and don't know if DT is making comparison or adding power or what?
Not just DR is unable to pay but becoming quite apparent around the world the debts of all kinds will be not payed.
First, take a look at the thermo plant. Where in DR is there an active volcanic thermal vent to get thermo for free once the plant is built? Nowhere, so imported NG would be used, which US Geological Society informed the world that the "vast" reserves of 6-8 Trillion Cubic Feet producers say are exploitable are actually 1-2Tcf. How much of that will be exported outside of NorthAm?
This is good news in a way. It means vampiric IMF / World Bank are unable to drag vassal states into any more debt; they're realizing none of that will be payed. We're not a in Great Recession, we're actually in a generation downscale where the need for re-localization will become more and more obvious with time and we'll regret in getting in debt to foreign powers.
