Santo Domingo.- President Danilo Medina ill meet with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission today to discuss the results of the information they gathered in the country during the last 10 days, leading to negotiations for a new economic agreement .
The meeting includes IMF mission leader Przemek Gajdeczka; local representative Mario Dehesa; Francesco Grigoli, Jesus Gonzalez and Andrew Swiston, among others.
The IMF representatives met with Dominican economic area officials to analyze the country’s finances and will now submit the results to Medina.
The IMF executives arrived in the country on Monday, and met with Central banker Hector Valdez Albizu, Finance minister, Simon Lizardo, Internal Taxes director Guarocuya Feliz, and other officials, as well as with the heads of the National Business Council (Conep) and of the Banks Association.
"We will begin to negotiate an agreement with the International Monetary Fund to the extent of expanding the information they have and we have, and when we exchange it then we'll see what kind of deal we are going to make," Medina had said recently.
