Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Exporters Association (ADOEXPO) will bolster the Dominican Export Excellence Award, to contribute to the National Development Strategy, as a useful tool to spur the country's economic growth through exports.
ADOEXPO President Kai Schoenhals made the announcement Thursday, and opened the registration for the awards.
He said for moer than 12 years ADOEXPO has supported competitiveness, cooperation for development, decision-making, policies for governance and stronger institutions.
Schoenhal said starting now, the participants have access to a fair and open participation in the process to recognize the effort, talent and quality of Dominican exporters.
He said Dominican producers and exporters of goods and services can submit candidates for all awards, in the ceremony slated for December.
The award categories feature Grand Dominican Export Excellence Industrial Export Excellence, Agro Industrial Exporter, Agricultural Export Excellence and Free Zone Exporter Excellence.
In the press conference also participated ADOEXPO Board director Fernando Gonzalez Nicolas, Second secretary Maria Eugenia Castillo, and Executive director Kary Van Der Horst.


I don't know why I never see ads on TV for the DR. I always see commercials for the Bahamas, Jamaica, and other Caribbean islands, but never the DR.
Trade attache Leonora Dipp de Martinez said that in 2011, the Dominican Republic bought 617,000 cases of whisky (20,000 bottles a day) costing around US$39 million.
