Santo Domingo.– Fourteen companies are participating in the race for the National Quality Award of the Private Sector in the Dominican Republic, to be announced during a ceremony in the salon Maximo Aviles Blonda of the Palace of Fine Arts, on October 16.

The Prize has been awarded since 1992 under the name of Industrial Excellence Award; however, due to the requests made by different sectors, from this year on the Prize will be called National Quality Award of the Private Sector in the Dominican Republic.

According to the Herrera Industries Association (AEIH) president Wadi Cano, small,  medium-sized and large companies are opting for the award in six categories.

And the award of the year goes to... excrement, which used to be flushed down the toilet but is now edible and delicious.

It would be nice to see the processed meat/salami producers in this competition with the name of the winner made public.

@ Zooma:

I tried to search for the past recipients, but kept getting linked back to the DT article. But then again I only did a cursory look, so I may not have done a good enough job, (I only searched; National Quality Award of the Private Sector in the Dominican Republic, Past reipients of the National Quality Award of the Private Sector in the Dominican Republic, Industrial Excellence Awards in the Dominican Repubic, and Herrera Industries Association (AEIH).

Perhaps DT can pubish a link for us. It truly would be interesting to see who the alma mater are. I bet that the past brewers of El Presidente Beer, (pre AMBEV), are among them.

How about it DT? Do you have a link for us?
