Santo Domingo.- Public Works minister Gonzalo Castillo on Tuesday said the road Bavaro-Miches-Sabana de la Mar could be finished as early as April, 2014.

He said great progress is being made on the infrastructure’s construction, which is expected to ease traffic through the eastern region.

The official said the existing road base between Uvero Alto and Sabana de la Mar will be used as part of the new span.

The Public Works Minister added that the span will form a fast link between Miches and the Tourist Boulevard of the East.

This is good news for the transportation infrastucture of the island. What is lacking is a overland (swamp/mangrove) link from Sabana de la Mar to Sanchez. We can only hope.

not enough kickbacks yet so will be another year. Flat ground no mountains or water or sewer lines.
