The miner began extractions August 14 and is scheduled to start commercial operation in the third quarter.

This guy helped this company re-established themselves in the DR., while he was the head of the US diplomatic mission in the DR. Now, he is rewarded with this position. Clearly a conflict of interest. The US authorities need to audit this guy; it is obvious that he had been doing business with the Barrick’s folks prior to his nomination. This kinds deals do not happen overnight.

Check the Guasabara blog in D.R. "las dos caras de Manuel Rocha" and do a Spanish language google on this character-this "diplomat" served in Honduras in the 80s during the height of the sinister Contra affair against the Sandinista Revolution, a true disciple of war criminal Negroponte, and war criminal par excellence Kissinger, intellectual author of Plan Condor. He also worked in the U.S. interests section in Havana, supporting the counter-revolution. That's only part of the sinister resume this "character" brings to the polyarchical monstrosity of Barrick Gold.

Absolutely, this guy has been around block and no necessarily doing “good things”. He was the orchestrated of the so-called Task Force Bravo in Pamerola, Honduras. This small US outpost, is now a structured US military “base” in the country. He also helped established a CIA communication station in a small Island called “ISLA DE TIGUERE”.
