Manuel Rocha was named yesterday
Santo Domingo.- Former U.S. diplomat Manuel Rocha was named yesterday president of Barrick’s Pueblo Viejo joint venture in Sanchez Ramirez province, in Dominican Republic’s northeast.
The miner began extractions August 14 and is scheduled to start commercial operation in the third quarter.
Barrick Pueblo Viejo is joinlty operated by Barrick Gold of Toronto, with a 60% stake, and Goldcorp, based in Vancouver, which owns the rest of the shares.
Rocha replaces Manuel Bonilla, who resigned the last week of August to pursue "personal business."


He is the former US Ambassador to Bolivia so he is use to dealing with corrupt governments!
