Santo Domingo.- The company Haina International Terminals (HIT) has received ISO 9001-2008 certification, the first port in the Dominican Republic to be certified under these international quality standards that pursue excellence. The certification authorized by ICS Ibérica for the Quality Management System is based on compliance with and the quality of HIT’s processes and projects, as well as the efforts made by each of their professional teams.

The executives added that the certification was the result of team efforts and the hard work that they do every day with all the company’s associates, with a total commitment to quality.

ISO 9001:2008 is the current version of international regulations that set out the requirements aimed at managing a quality system, which implies a continuous process of improving procedures, services and customer satisfaction.

Expand the Manzanillo port in Monte Cristi, that in Puerto Plata, and rebuild Sanchez ports.

Decentralize the country.

Give more opportunity for export and survival to the people in the provinces.

I agree with you both, but we will never see them build as long as Sto Dgo appoints Senators, Representatives (deputies),Governors that are not even from those Provinces and is willing to give its Provinces some sort of autonomous. As it is nothing has changed since Trujillo's days.
You will never see it decentralized either for any administration's best interest to have full control.

Oh, I don't know about that, Mr. Thelmo! I think we'll eventually see a lot of power diffused around and away from SD.
I don't know about "AUTONOMY", but likely, provinces will become more assertive in how their money is spent, (as well they should!), and will press hard to keep what's theirs and managed locally!

I agree that a decentralized form of government is the best option, as it would benefit best the population's majority which is comprised of the poorest of the poor.

Our kind of government, with its archaic laws and complicated constitution, isn't fair and benefits the rich at the expense of the overwhelming majority! ...Eventually, things must change. Something's gotta give!..Or else!

That is my point all along.Once decentralization occurs then we are in the path of progress.
