Santo Domingo.- Economy minister Temistocles Montas on Thursday announced the arrival of an International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation  in March to assess the country’s first quarter economic performance, and the first visit after the Tax Reform Act took effect.

Montas said although an agreement with the IMF has yet to be reached, the organization will monitor the national economy during at least the first five months of 2013.

The official spoke during the Dominican Republic’s Export and Investment Center (CEI-RD) seminar "Energy and the new administration in the Dominican Republic."

An IMF committee was participating in the seminar “Employment in the Dominican Republic” on Tuesday, hosted by the International Labor Organization (ILO).

Will they make their own determination of the real numbers or will they use the bogus numbers supplied to them by the government?

You know, The same BS that they feed us which their paid flunkies then repeat on DT.

Tocayo,

It doesn't matter, as long as they OK it. That's what you guys DON'T get: If these International Organizations say it, it's almost as good as gold.

Let's see what the IMF determines.

Since the IMF will be in the region, I wonder if they'll make a quick trip to the Greek Island of J.

:)

The IMF have a highly educated staff of professioanl economists and people with other degrees and the IMF makes quarterly reports onnearly every country using a broad rang of information from different sources /
In this counrty and on this ite, if their report shows a rosier future than that of the government , then the IMF is abused for only using the government reports and not being professional , because the writers here, most of whom have zero training in such forecasts say they know better,
But if the IMF forecast is lower than that of the government we will find a whole pack of self styled experts abusing the government for telling lies..and we all know who will be the first attacker.
So for those who bother to read the IMF report entirely , they will be amazed to read a dazzling range of opposing statements to those that they have read in the report

The IMF is a group of trained thugs, that are siphoning the wealth of nations around the globe.

There purpose is to fill the coffers, of a hand full of European elite, of investors and bankers.

While leaving us with more poverty and despair.

Medina pay the external debt with the gold from Pueblo Viejo.

Also, base the Dominican peso on gold and silver reserves.

Then Prosperity will be almost automatic in DR.
