Santo Domingo.- The Industry and Commerce Ministry posted the fuel prices for the week from January 5 to 11, when premium gasoline will cost RD$234.20, an increase of RD$3.10, and regular will sell for RD$216.30, an increase of RD$2.30 per gallon.
Premium diesel will be sold at RD$212.10 and regular diesel at RD$205.40, both with an increase of RD$2.80 per gallon.
Avtur will cost RD$151.98, or RD$1.03 higher; kerosene will cost RD$190.70, an increase of RD$3.50; fuel oil will cost RD$138.09, an increase of RD$2.88; propane gas will cost RD$93.53, or RD$2.00 more, and natural gas will remain unchanged at RD$30.50 per cubic meter.
The Central Bank’s average exchange rate of RD$40.35 per dollar was used to calculate fuel prices.

It's very hard to make an argument against NG, particularly as it is the cleanest burning fuel and incurs the lowest operating cost.
I am in the business and my sales are multiplying exponentially, and rightly so since it makes the most sense for the present.

Glomaexplorer: Where can we get NG here? Can we fill the same tanks as with propane? I think it burns cleaner and hotter, right?

@5borometro,
I don't really know situation in DR.
I don't know as to whether they use a primitive system with a vaporizer or fuel injection. Personally, I am involved with fuel injection systems operating from 2-8 atmospheres (Bars). My system requires a high strength pressure vessel for a tank, as the NG is pressurized to 3600-4200 PSI. It is a system more appropriate for those regions with high emissions standards, such as the USA and Europe.
Brazil may just be the leader in NG applications in our hemisphere. Even though many of the systems are primitive in nature, my company still sells many high pressure tanks to them.
In DR, given lax regulations, you are probably below 2.5 PSI pressure. However, given the much lower energy density for NG compared to gasoline, for adequate range, you'd still need a high pressure tank. the engine operates on mass air flow, with roughly 14.7 parts air to one part fuel (gasoline).. continues.

@5borometro,
Continued:
Based on significantly lower energy content of NG, compared to gasoline, several hundred as much volumetric NG flow is required compared to gasoline; consequently, much higher tank pressure would be required in order to get similar driving range.
I hope you'll will not find above explanation too technical or confusing and, more importantly, that it will prove helpful to your needs.

Thanks for the info Glomarexplorer... appreciate it! Yes, it is very technical. lol Your answer is very professional. I'll stick to the propane for now.....

Propane has three carbons, NG (or methane) has one. As a result, propane has about 3 times more energy. As a result, it needs lower pressures, and smaller nozzle orifices.
You cannot use propane and NG systems interchangeably, although they can be adapted. Both use high pressure tanks, a regulator to control the pressure and a nozzle somewhere in the system to inject the gas, so the conversions are not difficult, but you have to know what you are doing, or it could be very dangerous.

Thanks for both of your replies.
