Only 9 of 29 free zones pay on RD$1.3B owed
Santo Domingo.- Only nine of the 29 of Santiago’s free zone companies that owe RD$1.3 billion to the government have been paying, after an agreement reached with the Finance Ministry, which affirmed that the government will hire lawyers to collect the debt.
The revelation is in a report disclosed Thursday by Finance minister Simón Lizardo, submitted to the Chamber of Deputies Commission, who investigates the debt in arrears.
The report names the companies that are paying through the State-owned Rreservas bank: Margarita International, Micalo Bermudez; Group, Fernando Capellan, Union Textil, Pedro Manuel García; Grupo D’Clase, José Clase and Ana Manufacturing, de Martín Rivas. Also : RJ Torres, Joe Torres; Notions Dominicana, Miki Lama and Global Technology and Qel.
