Santo Domingo.- Transport Reform Office (Opret) deputy director Leonel Carrasco Wednesday announced that daily tests are being conducted throughout Santo Domingo Metro’s Line 2, prior to its official opening slated for late March.
He said the tests run from the Francisco del Rosario Sanchez station in the east, to the Maria Montez in the west, a span that was never open to the public because of construction delays in some stations.
Carrasco said once president Danilo Medina announced the opening during his February 27 speech, the work has been accelerated.
The official however declined comment on the disbursement of RD$200 million which Opret director Diandino Peña affirmed were still needed to finish the last three seasons.
Quoted by local media, Carrasco added the finishing touches include lighting, escalators, elevators, the surrounding areas of several stations, among other technical aspects.

Well, hurry up and finish so that we may start with the third line!
Hoping the "missing" part of Line 2 will be done sooner than later...
