Santo Domingo.- In yet another Sunday surprise visit to a far off  community since he took office August 16, president Danilo Medina yesterday held direct talks with producers and farmers in Villa Trina (north), where he announced RD$40 million funding for carpenters and vegetables growers.

He also arranged RD$4 million funding for the construction of a packing plant, and pledged to involve that community’s cabinetmakers to elaborate the desks for 10,000 new classrooms.

Medina also met with coffee and vegetable growers and furniture makers, who told the President their sector’s problems, for which the Head of State pledge to solve them with financing.

Accompanied by several government officials, Medina also spoke with representatives of the 17 greenhouse nurseries grouped in the Espaillat Province of Villa Trina Greenhouse Growers Association, who asked him to expand the industry.

"where he announced RD$40 million funding for carpenters and vegetables growers".

While there's always a market for more vegetables grown, I have to question the need for growing more carpenters.
I mean, what is the nutritional value in carpenters? Eh? .. I think we should concentrate on expanding agriculture, and funding furniture makers. Just saying...

Going in the right direction DR !!!

En hora buena Danilo !!!

Holland is the second largest exporter of agricultural products on earth.

We should emulate Holland on the subject of agricultural exports.

With intention of being at least close to third place.

They employ over 700,000 people in horticulture exports alone.

Jobs creation is our priority need.
