Santo Domingo.- The Banco Multiple de Las Americas, Bancamerica, on Tuesday announced its fourth anti-money laundering (AML) Congress to be held April 18 and 19 at the Santo Domingo Hilton Hotel.

For the fourth consecutive year and focused on Money Laundering and International Commerce, Bancamerica aims to conduct a forum with local and foreign exhibitors, who’ll deal with the different aspects to halt the entry of illicit capital into financial institutions, banks, companies and society in general.

In an emailed statement, Bancamerica said the conference’s main purpose is to train all participants, especially those related to the financial sector, in the use of new mechanisms and tools to prevent money laundering and financial crimes in general.

The conference will feature national and international experts from Colombia, Mexico, United States, Uruguay, Panama and Venezuela.

Having a money laundering conference here only teaches the money launderers the newest ways they can be caught and how to circumvent these measures. Can you imagine the guest list? Like having a "How to avoid prison breaks" seminar to be held inside Riker's Island. Only in the DR!!!!
