Santo Domingo.- The young business leaders grouped in ANJE on Wednesday presented their 2013 corporate objectives to the media, stressing initiatives to improve country’s competitiveness and promote agreements stipulated in the Law on the National Development Strategy.

"The Dominican Republic has great weaknesses that limit development of new businesses, especially for young people, and the sustainability of existing businesses,” said ANJE President Frank Elias Rainieri, noting that the initiatives will benefit the social and productive sectors.

Citing World Economic Forum and Doing Business reports in 2013, Rainieri said the country competitiveness hasn’t progressed in recent years, especially indicators on the quality of government spending, electric sector management, incentives to create new businesses, quality education, lack of legal security and of transparency.

“That’s the reason which motivates the institution’s directors to undertake initiatives that contribute to strengthen productive sector’s competitiveness, to benefit society,” ANJE said in a statement.

Frank Elias Rainieri was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. It is tough to inspire competiveness among those who were not born priviledged and who have not been able to break into the close knit inner circle of the elite few.
