Santo Domingo.- President Danilo Medina submitted to the Senate Thursday a US$71.9 million loan agreement to finance the Azua II-Pueblo Viejo (south) agricultural development project.

In the letter to Senate president Reinaldo Pared, the Head of State says the loan from Brazilian bank BNDES will also be used to recover the Azua II region’s irrigation system and continue to supply all goods and services needed to complete the agro project.

Medina’s missive says the loan’s rate will be the Brazil Central Bank’s Libor during 60 months, increasing at an annual 2.3 percent margin, remaining fixed until the contract expires.

The project, to be carried out by the Brazilian contractor Queiroz Galvao, S.A., aims to expand and modernize Azua valley’s irrigation system, repair severely damaged sections of the Ysura Canal toward the towns of Estebanía, Las Charcas and Hatillo, as well as the construction of 13 lagoons adjacent to Ysura’s system.

Good investment. This means better land management and greater yields of agricultural products for export.
Let's grow more black beans and exchange it for Venezuela's petrol. This project will pay for itself quick and will increase our ability to diversify in accordance with the world's demands for tropical produce.

Let's build another seaport in Manzanillo, Montecristi.!

5 x 2.3 above libor at the end of 5 years is 11.5% above Brazils Libor just for interest what about the balance of the USD 71.9 million?

The money is good if it is used to provide education and health care for Haitians,

at a rate of 5,000,000,000 billion per year.

But it is not good, if it is going to provide irrigation for (((( agricultural production $$$ ))),

and ((( human consumption +++))).

Not good if it is: "to finance the Azua II-Pueblo Viejo (south) agricultural development project"

the law is quantitative. so the guys hire 80 Haitians to carry the cement, and 20 Brazilians in the upper categories. just like tourism. 20 Dominicans to change the bed linen, and 20 foreigners in managerial positions.
