Santo Domingo.- Santo Domingo Aqueduct Utility (CAASD) director Alejandro Montas affirmed Wednesday that piped water production rose to 340 million gallons per day, and continued rains would normalize the situation in much of Greater Santo Domingo.

The official’s announcement came during the presentation of the project "Cansino Adentro Pilot Unit," to extend the aqueduct to the eastern suburbs, to be built at a cost of US$45 million with funds from Spain’s International Cooperation Agency for  water and sanitation.

"This is a work of great importance for the CAASD because it will solve the problem of water and sanitation of Cansino and other Santo Domingo Este sectors, as no community can develop if its fundamental services aren’t resolved," Montas said.

This not in order to start some type of rant with any one...having said that
Can you please explain what other choices do people who many consider " children of a lesser God" just for the tragedy of been beyond poverty?
In my opinion transportation is an intrinsically necessary tool for development on any nation and specially in a saturated island which streets are full of SUV , unreliable buses, dangerous moto concho among a few...in my poor opinion about the subject "when it relates to the Dom Rep" anyways, I think transports , medicine, food , education among a few and not necessary in the same order are part of the economical development of a nation and it's people .
Why I am asking you to educate me a little more in the subject when it relate to the DR.
Thanks

True but transport is not synonymous with METRO!

"and specially in a saturated island which streets are full of SUV , unreliable buses, dangerous moto concho"

Remember Santo Kolkata is not the entire country nor does the majority of the population live there. This is the distorted view people have and reinforced by the government crooks............ the Country is the DOMINICAN REPUBLIC not the capital.

......Finally you can live your ENTIRE Life without a USELESS METRO but only three Days without WATER!

So which is the TRUE NATIONAL PRIORITY?
