Commonwealth Roundtable, chambers of commerce to sign trade pact

Santo Domingo.- The Roundtable of Commonwealth Countries in the Dominican Republic and Dominican Republic’s Chambers of Commerce Federation (Fedocamaras) on Friday said they’ll sign an agreement to spur trade, economic and investment information between the countries.

The binational chambers of commerce of Great Britain, Canada, India, Trinidad & Tobago, South Africa and Fedocamara’s 26 provincial branches will the agreement 10:30am next Monday at the Hilton Hotel.

The pact will create a mechanism to bolster bilateral ties between the Dominican Republic and the Commonwealth’s 53 countries worldwide, which represent 25% of the world’s total trade, and the private sector’s national chambers nationwide.

Ambassadors and consuls of Commonwealth countries assigned in the Dominican Republic will attend the event hosted by the Roundtable, an initiative whose main objective is to promote political, trade and cultural ties among its 53 countries and the Dominican Republic.
