Commonwealth diplomat to speak at UNIBE University

Santo Domingo.- Sir Ronald Sanders, diplomat for several Commonwealth countries will speak at the Iberoamerican University UNIBE next Tuesday.

Sanders, knighted by queen Elizabeth of England, is an international consultant, writer and past ambassador to the Caribbean region.

The also researcher of the University of London’s Institute of Commonwealth Studies recently announced his candidacy for the post of Secretary General of the Commonwealth in London.

The Commonwealth is a global association of 53 countries with similar idiosyncrasy, language and democratic system, which account for 25 percent of world trade

Sanders will speak on Dominican Republic’s current political and economic relations with its Commonwealth neighbors in the Caribbean.

UNIBE and the Roundtable of Commonwealth Countries in Dominican Republic host several conferences on the Commonwealth at the prestigious institute of higher learning.

The event is slated for 6pm Tuesday, February 24 in the UNIBE Conference Room.

In addition to his dissertation, Sander will hold meetings with representatives of the country’s private and public sectors.
