Minister promises fuel price reductions this weekend

SantoDomingo.- The Minister of Industry and Commerce, Jose del CastilloSaviñon promised significant reductions in fuel prices as of this Saturday.

He saidthat the price reductions were being made due to the fall in world oil prices.

DelCastillo did not specify the values of the reductions explaining that they have to waituntil Thursday to calculate other internal variables.

Meanwhile, FNP deputy Vinicio Castillo Semán has submitted a bill for the reform ofLaw 112-2000, also known as the hydrocarbons law.

The fall inthe international price of petroleum per barrel ought to be reflected in the nationaleconomy and production, according to the president of the Mining and PetroleumSector Chamber, José Sena, who said that this sharp fall was caused by externalfactors like the economic crisis in China.
