Research reveals enormous potential and good market acceptance

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic Export and Investment Center (CEI-RD) on Tuesday released the study ‘Facilitation and Market Access for Agricultural and Agribusiness in New York and Florida, under the DR-CAFTA."

Among the research’s findings figure specific Dominican products with great potential and which whose exports can grow, also confirming the good acceptance of domestic products in places with Dominican presence.

The study found that both New York and Florida, aside from being two of the main consumption centers, are also points of entry to other US states.

It found that Florida, by its nature, has great potential as a re-export point to other Caribbean islands, which the agency says Dominican Republic should exploit.

The consulting firm Agroforsa SRL conducted the research under the CEI-RD’s strategic guidelines, and forms part of an agreement between the agency and the New York National Supermarkets Association (NSA) in January 2013.

“The research forms part of the marketing strategy of the CEI-RD to maximize exports and strengthen commercial ties between producers and buyers.”

Wow do we really need to pay an agency to do a market study of where Dominican products should be export it into the USA. New York and Florida seems to me to be the bigger winner without a doubt and without the need to pay some guys some money for doing the study.

I keep saying that DR has great potential in becoming an agricultural export giant. BUT, It won't happen from a political or business initiative. It will, however, when and if we can learn to manage our water and land wisely. It must be noted that rivers and other water sources, vital in the growth of nation, economically and otherwise, must be safeguarded by zealously protecting forests from the scumbag loggers bent on turning us into another treeless wasteland, as it happened in Haiti.!!

Forests are of the upmost vital importance in successful agricultural practices. Forests are the catalysts for rain and the preservation of rivers, streams, and lakes. Forests anchor soil and prevent erosion. Anyone NOT understanding this fundamental principle deserves the deprivation it'll invariably bring.! .... Que se mueran los idiotas.!!

What great news coverage, just as we have come to expect! There is a list, but you'll have to guess for yourself what is on it!
