Medina cuts ribbon on overpass in Boca Chica

Boca Chica, Dominican Republic.- President Danilo Medina onFriday headed the inaugural for a traffic interchange on the Las Americas highway,formed by an overpass at the entrance to Caucedo port, a return lane, two motorbikeand pedestrian bridges, and the park at La Caleta.

Public Works minister Gonzalo Castillo said the works savefuel, time and vehicle operating costs, impacting business, tourism andindustry.

The works built by the contractors Risek and Moya were designedand supervised by Tecnoamerica, and include a 77 meter-long overpass and a rampover 500 meters long.

The Caucedo overpass forms part of the first phase of theroad project to improve traffic safety in and around Boca Chica, Castillo said.
