RE: THE SOLUTION TO HAITI'S PROBLEMS CAN NOT COME FROM DR or MURO POR LA VIDA

I am already getting much interest from many different groups and offers to volunteer and it is a damn good sign.
We are waiting after semana santa to name a steering committee for the group.
This muro por la vida idea is taking off, and will be a great patriotic project that will hopefully unite our country and we will all participate in the task.
Yumnuck, , great post, I got some ideas from it. The wall should be probably made of a combination of
materials that are available in the DR. Maybe cement and steel at some places. The study that will be done will probably set the recommendations of best way to go.
popon as usual beautiful pictures of the China wall, I also posted a link for the Mexican wall that should be checked out.

General, I do not think we will see a wall in our life time for sure, it comes down to priority and will. Educate me, is there a political party or a movement that have such an agenda, to your knowdlege have there been any study and about the cost factor, otherwise we are just blogger blowing hot air.
may be placing some walls at some strategic location would be more feasible in the short term, and may serve as a detriment, have you ever been to the borders ?, not a friendly terrain, and does not compare to the mexican/us border that is mostly flat

I went to the border once invited by the Secretary of the armed forces along with a Puerto Rican reporter who was doing an interview for the general, and we travelled by army helicopter to Jimani
and stopped in Dajabón and a few other places.
I witnessed the mercado day in the border town and how the Haitians come to buy goods in the DR
by the thousands.
When there is will there is a way, if we can visualize it it will become reality, That is how ideas and things materialize, (Did you see or read "The Secret" well it is just a dream right now, like "I have a dream", then you visualize it and you let the universe provide the details.
The border wall will probably start in sections like most walls, at the most crucial points, and at the points that are most vulnerable. Then grow from there. It could start with barbed wire fence first, cement in some places and other indigenous materials in others.
But it will happen, and it will start soon, I can see it going up.
If it will be completed in our lifetime? I don't know, and I sure hope so, but the seed has been planted and
a lot of people are visualizing this wall as well, and it will eventually happen.
With the growing Haitian population and their limited food resources is our ONLY hope to survive in the next 10-15 years.
Once the escape valve is sealed, the Haitians will try harder to find solutions to their problems instead of just crossing the border for food, water, health and jobs.

USA border fence. Not a good looking fence but at least is serving the purpose.

Our fence will be much better, mostly reinforced prefabricated cement, taller, prouder, and we will also invite our graffiti artist to paint over it.
You will see, you will be there in person to witness it.

Generoso,
I'll be there in person to witness it.

If the Chinese built this wonder 2500 years ago, why can we?

Truthfully, I am not familiar with the intricacies... I have more questions than answers.

my friend there are over ten thousand dominicans and over fifteen thousand haitians in my little island of 345 sguare km some are legal and illegal. they are here beacause we have a higher standard of living than haiti and DR, most of the population here is of african descent. but we dont discriminate against haitians or why is there is so much hate towards haitians. i know they are very hard headed but this is so beacause of the little education they have. and by the way haitians here live like brothers with dominicans. I also know of haitian men here with dominican women. and by the way most dominicans have part ancestory african. i have been to mexico and panama and a saw what a true white spanish ancestory is. dr is a mix of african and spanish. most dominicans claim tiano ancestory which is false all the indians died out when the spanish settled 500 years ago. If u think i am lying go to the islands of dominica and st vincent there you will see pure breed Taino people with likness to dominicans.

I think that you're the one who needs a wake up call, buddy, cuz' it have been scientifically proven that Taino extinction is just a myth. Would you care to read the following thread, if that is not too much for your little peanut brain, that is:

http://www.dominicantoday.com/dr/forum/living-in-the-dr/general-info/586/Taino-Ancestry-Among-Dominicans

10,000 Dominicans and 15,000 Haitians on a population of 32,000 as per latest census !! Mister
Lat, I believe Canada want to annex the turk and caicos. by the way the island size is 417 square km, you sure know your "cuntry" well

I am rolling on the floor.LOL.LOL.LOL.

It was stated publicly recently by a high official of the Turks and Caicos government that Haitians and Dominicans make up about 40% of the total population of that island.
The British are terrified that those numbers could rise and the resident natives could lose that majority.
Remember the territorial claims that are constantly made by the British to keep us out and protect their arbitrary boundaries on international waters surrounding Turk and Caicos, where it is said possible
large and yet undiscovered oil reservoirs lie, as well as many sunken treasure ships.
It has gotten to the point of harassment with Navy ships from Turks and Caicos jailing and
destroying Dominican fishing vessels that incur in "their" protected waters.
When the DR authorized salvagers were extracting the silver and gold from the wreck of the "Atocha" the Spanish ship that was salvaged in the middle 1980's, Dominicans had to place in the rescue boat, the most feared commander of the black attire "Hombres ranas", General Montes Arache to protect that ship and keep them at bay, with a constant patrol and communication with the DR air force war planes.

As per mister turk and caicos, and the figure I was able to gather the percentage is much higher than that 40% that you referrring to, something closer between 60% to70% Thanks for the information General, I am still waiting for Mister Turk and Caicos conclusion.

the expat population here is the largest boy. All i am trying to say dominicians should stop the hate, beacause people here has no ill feelings towards your people or haitians. and by the way i speak spanish and treat all dominicans as brothers. I know racisim beacause both my great grand father and grandmother who were of irish and portuguse ancestory used to talk down to black people. dominicans risk their lives to go to puerto rico and the people there dont like it, so why treat the haitians like that when you have a boat culture too.

Thank you for your conclusion, it's easy to say than done, no one in their right mind will disagree with what you say , however the issues are more complex, there are historical facts, DR being less afro centric and Haiti very afro centric, Haiti present economic situation ect.. please stick around a little you will learn more.
