I can picture a beautiful sight of patriotic Dominicans working to build the security wall, composed of thousands of volunteers chipping in and working in their spare time, students, laborers, campesinos, retired military, motoconcho drivers, government employees, and many others.
We have to wake up as a nation that has been dormant with this issue for way too long, we are facing a challenge of very hungry and desperate individuals that have nothing to lose. The odds could not be any higher as our survival as a nation is at stake.

The wall would probably be very costly, and it will take a long time to build.
The Israeli wall is composed of cement and barbed wire in sections and the Palestinians built tunnels to go under it.

None. These are probably individuals with their own agenda. If anything you should start from the ground up. New people new faces in the forefront. Perhaps leverage resources from those within the know and how.

The Israeli wall is not completed yet but it is being built. There is an Indian-Pakistan fence being built as well. The USA is also building a fence along the Mexican border and again:
"Good fences make good neighbors"
I assume it will not be a cheap undertaking but it will establish the 1936 Dominican-Haitian border for once and for all. Doesn't have to be all cement either it could be barbed wire fence in some areas, and
probably some individuals would find a way to make tunnels and so forth but it will make it a lot harder to
do this, plus you will need specialized equipment to dig tunnels under it and that requires capital investment.
It is not enough to just build a fence but you also need motion sensors, thermal imaging devices and night-vision equipment and not just rely on underpaid soldiers that could be easily bribed.
But like the saying goes: "The journey of the 1000 miles start with the first step".
The wall will stop making it so easy to walk across the two countries and diminish greatly the contraband, smuggling and illegal immigration to the DR.

The goverment needs to increase the amount of arrests for drug dealers, increase their bail amounts and use the money for material purchase.

if more haitian keep coming to d.r. year by year, dominican republic will turn into another haiti. most of the dominican republic upper class and middle class will be begging to come
to america (or even spain). dominican republic will become another black republic like haiti, and the country will sink, because of aids, violence, etc.

You are correct DelgadoMass this influx is terrible to our identity and culture, forget the outside idiots that ramble and talk a good game, but inside are dead corpses trying to destroy us. We need to uphold our sovereignty no matter what and expel those that historically have cause us harm. When ever i read the pages of the history of my ancestors im reminded, that the enemies bloodline still runs trough the veins of the Haitian people today. The hell with N.G.O's that sponsor websites that lie about our history, and the so called super powers of the world that hound at smaller nations. excellent generoso. you blew me off wth those word. las majoria de dominicanos estan de el lado que tu esta. what we are waiting is for is a leader who stand uncompromised against the haitian problem. it is inevitable sooner or later we are going to wake up as a nation and deal the way we should had done it in the late 80's. i hope we do it sooner rather than later. they are taking over dr with their cheap labor. from sugar cane to farm to construction next sector they are taking over is tourism. little by little with the help of the international community who they all cry foul everytime we try to excersise our law by deporting the illegal haitian back to their country. that is what they want haitianizar DR that is their gran plan, they think that should take care of haiti problem. they want to create a force big enough to create a FUSION. integration of haiti and dr to as one nation in the island.

GIZMO Exactly Vacanos the fusion concept is the method, they want D.R. to accept. This will only create a mass migration to the north no matter how many Coast Guard or Military ships they put to block the onslaught.
