Maybe some of them still think of the DR as an inalienable part of Haiti, just like some indonesians refuse to recognize to the east timorese any rights of sovereignity. Others simply don't care at all to what happens on the eastern side of the island, same thing that happens with the majority of our people, when the press are not reminding them that the haitians exist, that is. "If it doesn't happens to me, then it's not my bloody problem" seems to be the reasoning of the majority of the people on both sides of the island these days. No illegal Haitians means higher food cost, and construction... If you pay close attention to the NEW constitution you'll see that it's a far feched idea..
