That does not surprise anyone here, ungrateful haitian bourgeoisie make sure dominicans are excluded. This is evident even when you access haitian websites and newspapers, they only speak about Miami and the US, and forget that DR is helping with 50% of haitian misfortune.

Here is an example of what I just said...

Haïti: Haiti perd 3 places dans les facilités de faire des affaires
Check out the blogs (commentaires)...nobody talks about Dominican Republic, they prefer to look elsewhere, but not to see what le pays voisin did to improve the numbers.

Maybe some of them still think of the DR as an inalienable part of Haiti, just like some indonesians refuse to recognize to the east timorese any rights of sovereignity. "C'est une et indivisible" and all that. Others simply don't care at all to what happens on the eastern side of the island, same thing that happens with the majority of our people, when the press are not reminding them that the haitians exist, that is. "If it doesn't happens to me, then it's not my bloody problem" seems to be the reasoning of the majority of the people on both sides of the island these days.

Unification might lead to a race war... remember that the majority of the rich get rich by exploiting the poor... No illegal Haitians means higher food cost, and construction...

If you pay close attention to the NEW constitution you'll see that it's a far feched idea..

More like the U.S. will join with Canada

Alright you got me, I forgot one can't even make a small mistake on DT.com without being bombarded by other posters; I misinterpreted myself and should've used a better word.

That does not surprise anyone here, ungrateful haitian bourgeoisie make sure dominicans are excluded. This is evident even when you access haitian websites and newspapers, they only speak about Miami and the US, and forget that DR is helping with 50% of haitian misfortune.

did you ever stop to think that the Dominicans didn't want to be a part of something like this??

i doubt dominicans wouldnt want to be part of that video, idk maybe they just didnt think 2 add the DR flag, not that big of a deal in my opinion. it is kinda weird how they added the PR flag even tho PR has NEVER showed any type of love 2 haiti, oh but the DJ who made the song is puerto rican i guess that explains that one.

Nice to see a haitian that made it represent for his people. the only other person ive seen do that is wyclef. theres enough dominicans, puerto ricans, and cubans in the game in my opinion and this dude got some flow 2, the song came out hot.

Well,

There is this known fact that Dominicans try to distant themselves socially with much anything that has the word Haiti or involve Haitians in it, plain and simple. The reasons are for all the known historically deep seated resentments we all know so well.

Whereas other ethnic groups in the region share a less direct history with Haiti, if at all. So socially it is not much a big deal for them to deal with Haiti or anything Haitian associated. In Miami, little Haiti and little Havana are so close to each other and the relationship between a Haitian and a Cuban or Puerto Rican is less stigmatized than that of a Haitian and a Dominican which always contain elements of resentment divide. The answer is as plain and simple as you put it above and regardless of how anyone interpret it either positively or negatively,it means what it says: "They (Dominicans) Did Not Want To Be Part Of It." It had much of nothing to do with that remark here which states that "Ungrateful Haitian Bourgeoisie Make Sure Dominicans Are Excluded."

In the social arena of things, it is not likely you will find that many Haitian Dominican fusion body of work. I mean, Wyclef just made a song with Aventura recently and the last time there was a fusion like this of any kind was not since Felix Cumbe and Frenandito Villalona used to take the stage in both Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

P.S: To some, most or many Dominicans, Haiti or Haitians is/are still viewed as either enemy(ies) before going on any tangent to even say "nemesis" which involves the disdain sentiments of the known included xenophobia factors of anit-Haitiasmos or/and anti-Dominicanismo as well.
